How NumTV works

NumTV is a web-streaming portal that live-streams Indian TV channels through the internet. Just like how TV channels are telecasted through cable or dish, Num TV telecasts Indian TV channels through the internet. Num TV is part of the famous Chennai based Pentamedia Group and were the first to launch Indian TV channels through the internet. Num TV has tied-up with a lot of TV channels in India and we telecast these channels 24 hours non-stop - both live and archived. Any time you log on to your account, the channels to which you subscribed will be playing live. You click on a particular channel to watch it and you can always click on another channel if you don't like the program; just like switching channels using a remote. Furthermore if you don't like the live programs you can go to the archives section for the particular channel and choose any particular program for the past 15 days and watch them. This virtual library of TV programs will give you access to 100's of programs at any point of time. 

Also at this point of time we have to inform you that Num TV does not control the content of these channels, we just play the role similar to that of cable operators and are in no way responsible for the quality of programs that the channels show. 

Also you must be wondering the significance of the usage of the word 'telecasted'. Yes, when we say telecasted, we mean it as many of our customers actually watch the web-streamed TV channels on the TV. If you are asking "How?" we will surely answer your question soon. First let us tell you how you can use this exciting service and start watching your favorite channels within the next few minutes. 

Lets' begin by explaining the requirements for setting up Num TV. 


 
The Infrastructure

• Firstly you would need a computer. Any computer that performs the basic functions should suffice. Refer the FAQ for more information. 

• Secondly you would need high-speed internet connection, which could be either Cable or DSL. The video looks great in broadband and when transferred to the TV looks almost like Cable TV.

 
Becoming a Registered User

• Once you are on the homepage of www.numtv.com, click on the 'Create a Free Account' button and fill in the details to create a user account. You will be using this user id to login to your account every time you want to watch programs. After you register, your password will be emailed to you.

• Once you are a Registered User you can watch the demo-clips of the various channels and you would be able to navigate through the website to understand the features. 

Note: We would never ask for your credit card information, unless you are purchasing a product, which is the next step in this process. 


 
Purchasing Options

• Once you are sure you have tested the website and understood how the system works, you can go to the next step of purchasing your channels. 

• First decide which channel package you want to purchase. Every package contains one main channel and a few additional channels.

• Customers have the option of buying the news channels either as a package or adding them along with any other package.

Becoming a Paid User 

• In the homepage, click on the 'Buy a Package' button and go over the step by step process to purchase your package. Your credit card information is processed through the Secured Site certified by Verisign. 

• Remember during the course of the registration you will be prompted for your user id and password again for security reasons. 

• Once your payment is authorized, you are ready to go. You can login and start watching the channels. 

 
PC to TV

Now you can watch all your favorite channels on TV. All you need to do is to connect your PC/Laptop Monitor to the TV Monitor using a Video Cord. Once you have connected your PC to the TV, using the desktop properties transfer the PC screen to the TV screen. You can also activate an extended desktop so that you can work in your computer and watch TV at the same time. You would also need to connect the audio out of the PC to the audio in of the TV to transfer the audio. Please refer to the PC to TV Link for more technical details.

Though S-video/RCA/VGA cords are good enough to transfer videos, they may not offer great video quality if the customer is using a wide screen TV or a HDTV. For such customers we suggest you purchase a 'Set-Top-Box' that can convert the PC signals to TV signals. There are many products available in the market and we suggest that the customers use their discretion while purchasing such products.

For customers who have their PC and TV in different rooms we suggest that you purchase a wireless video transmitter. This gadget will wirelessly transfer video from your PC to the TV.

 
Expiry and Renewal 

• All monthly subscriptions are valid for 30 days. Your account would expire after the 30th day and you would have to subscribe again to renew your subscription. Our system does not automatically renew your account.

• Click on the subscribe link on the website to subscribe again. 

 
Cancellation and Refunds

• Customers who do not wish to continue their subscription at the end of their subscription period need not unsubscribe or request a cancellation. As mentioned before their account would remain inactive and they can activate it whenever they want. Customers wont be automatically charged at any point of time for periods where the account is not subscribed.
   

• Refund Policy
  
  Numtv.com will not make refunds to monthly and walk-in users. All the other refunds will be subject to a $2 transaction fee. Pro-rata refunds lesser than $3 after the transaction fee will not be refunded. The processing time for all refunds will be 2 weeks. All refund requests have to be directed to numtvsupport@penta-media.comwith the following details: User id, Full Name, Phone Number, Mailing Address.
  
  If a customer is not satisfied with the service they have to write to numtvsupport@penta-media.com and explain their problems. After a scrutiny of the case we will take the necessary action.

 
Technical Support

Although numtv.com works like any other website, since we web-stream non-stop video there might be instances when you land into some technical issues. We are very well aware of this and hence have put in place the Live Chat - Technical Support. Customers can chat live with our technical support personnel and get all their issues solved.
